A Look at Internet Memes' Evolution

22/01/2021

If you are wondering what a Meme is, it is an Internet term that describes a unit of text, usually no more than a couple of hundred words that becomes the subject of an online discussion. An Internet Meme, also known simply as a joke, is usually created for comedic purposes and shared via the Internet, most often through blogging, social networking platforms, and especially on news sharing and message boards. When Internet users share jokes or stories with others on the Internet, they are creating a "meme" or a piece of online content that becomes part of the collective Internet culture. Today, the term "meme" has a much broader meaning than it did before the Internet became widely available.

In its most natural state, a cultural template or norm is selected through natural selection. It may be based on a religious belief, a personality trait, a cultural code, a political opinion, a style, or even a type of food preference. Such cultural templates are passed from one individual to another and, in the case of Internet Memes, from one website to another. This is how cultural norms like Pepe the Frog became popular on the Internet. He was a frog drawn in black in white that was popularized by the Internet and his picture was spread across the Web, first by an Internet cartoonist, then by other users, and finally by people on the streets, as they were drawn to the symbolism and humor of it.

The spread of cultural information through the Internet cannot be considered a sudden process. It is a long process that hinges on the development of new types of Memes. For instance, jokes or cultural information about cats can be passed on from one user to another over time, sometimes with only a simple, benign comment. But when this happens, a new type of Meme is born, and a different, new version of the same joke or statement is developed.

The spread of internet Memes is not the only way humans pass cultural information. They also use other methods like writing and speech acts. During history, leaders of nations have been quoted as having said certain things, which eventually became part of history books. But some things have been quoted but are not actually known to have been said by certain figures. This forms part of the process of cultural evolution through the use of internet Memes.

There are two different schools of thoughts about internet Memes. Some people believe that they are nothing more than meaningless shells of words designed to sound like something meaningful, while other people see them as representative of actual culture. In reality, no single definition can entirely explain internet Memes. Because the term can mean almost anything, it is difficult to define an actual category of internet Memes and therefore the spread and definition of the concept is subject to constant flux.

The main difference between a true cultural Miracle and a series of internet Memes is the fact that it was created for a purpose. An artist may create a picture frame or tweet using a photo of his or her pet, but these types of cultural artifacts are meant to be art. When you look at a picture frame or tweet and see a bunch of senseless pictures, you can't help but think that whoever created that could not come up with anything better. That's because no one is looking, so the picture is pointless. On the other hand, when you look at an image or graphic and see its origins and the reasons that the person chose to draw it, you can better understand what it means and why it was chosen.

Because of the anonymity that internet memes provide, their creators have little concern for public perception. Many of them might choose to draw internet Memes in a manner that is appealing to the most people possible and leave out those who don't think the same way. For this reason, some artistic concepts that have been created from internet Memes may become controversial and cause people to react strongly.

In the future, if internet Memes continue to evolve and become accepted into society as more than just something for teenagers to use, there may be less of a need for artists to create such things. As the Meme becomes more popular, its creators may feel free to include more information or draw on different colors or styles. This may change the direction of internet Memes for good or possibly create new ones that are less controversial or offensive. One thing that's for sure is that as long as there is human interaction online, the trend of creating cultural phenomena through the use of internet Memes will continue. What comes next is anybody's guess.
